Design Specifics

OUTLINE
Fuller nose with a clean arc, pulling into a rounded pin. The fuller nose gives the board plenty of surface area up front, perfect for getting forward to scrape into waves or as a stable platform to put the kids or dog. The clean outline makes the board amazingly maneuverable from the middle and the rounded pin assists in redirections making the board surprisingly surfable for an allrounder.

RAILS
Kind of chunky and full. More so designed for general paddling and buoyancy, not having performance surfing in mind so we’re not trying to sell it as the ultimate performance board, it’s really the tighter tail outline that allows a turn.

ROCKER
Medium Rocker. This amount of rocker enables the board to function out in the surf and still be able to take late drops without pearling or nose diving. Yet it is still flat enough to have great paddle speed and tracking ability.

BOTTOM
Flat. Nothing fancy.

DECK
Relatively Flat. Due to the fuller rails, the deck is quite comfortable to stand on.

FINS
For top to bottom surfing the thruster will be the better option, as the waves get a little steeper and faster switch out to the quad to hold a higher more direct line, or if the waves are flatter and more open with little chance of top to bottom surfing, the quad is also an option…

Shaper Q&A

Bert Burger, originating out of Mandurah Western Australia, has been designing, innovating and building sandwich construction and vacuum bagged surfboards for over 23 years. He is the man behind the creation of the parabolic rail, as well as Firewire’s technology and surfboard design.

What did you think of when you designed it?

I wanted to design a board for the masses, something that anyone in the family could get on at any stage and enjoy. A real crowd pleaser and something that would always have its place in any garage or quiver.

For the sake of transparency, what are some areas that the board possibly compromises on?

Being an allround board it’s not the best performer out in the surf when the conditions become a little more critical. However, it will still handle quite a large range for an allrounder.
